Begin with leg exercises in order to build your leg muscle:
1. Leg Lifts
To perform proper leg lifts, lie on the floor, flat on your back. raise both legs up together as high as possible (attempt to get them completely vertical). This exercise will build your upper leg muscles and tone your abs at the same time.
2. Scissor Kicks
Lying on the floor, raise both of your legs, until your heels are just a few inches from the ground. Perform a kicking motion with your legs, raising them up to around 45 degrees from the ground (alternating between left and right).
3. Walking
There is no simpler exercise when it comes to building leg muscle. If you can get a half hour to an hour of walking in, per day, you will see noticeable improvement in your leg muscles. There doesn't need to be a set destination, just walking through your neighborhood or the mall is just fine. Walking is a great exercise, because not only does it help shape and build leg muscles, but it also helps you burn calories.
Burning calories is essential to getting in shape. You can build all of the muscle in the world, however, if it lives below a thick layer of fat, it does you no good at all. Burning the fat off will allow your body to reach it's full potential, as you expose your wonderfully defined muscle.
