Without excess food, there is nothing to be converted into fats. Chicken and tuna are the best things to eat since it is a great source of protein and low in saturated fats and carbohydrates. IT can be hard to find time for six meals in your hectic schedule but keep in mind that if this an issue, you can use dietary supplements. That way you will continue to get the macronutrients that you body needs in order to convert muscles. Canned salmon or chicken breast are staples of a muscle building diet. Remember to stay away from junk food and processed food.

This means that most people are not drinking enough water. On average you should be drinking between six and nine glasses of water every day.
2. Eating first thing in the morning is very important. Your body has had nothing to convert to energy the entire time you were sleeping and therefore a quality breakfast is a staple of a muscle building diet. Your body's natural reaction will be to store up the nutrients so that it can be used later on when they are needed. A good muscle building diet requires you to eat a solid and healthy breakfast first thing in the morning.
3. The frequency of your meals is also extremely important. Most people are hung up on the rhythm of three meals a day. This means that your body is storing fat in between each of these meals because there is just too much time in between them. Therefore it is ideal that you eat your smaller meals every two hours or so. This can include a diet shake to alleviate some of the time it takes to prepare each meal.
Lifting heavy weights regularly, eating good food frequently and drinking plenty of water are the key components of your muscle building diet.
